*1 Hands-off driving is possible when driving in a single lane on the condition that the driver remains attentive to the road ahead and is prepared to immediately take manual control of the steering wheel when conditions of the road, traffic, and vehicle require it.

*2 The hands-off feature is not available in tunnels where a GPS signal cannot be established, on expressways without a physical separation that divides the traffic moving in opposite directions, on winding roads, in tollgate areas or merging lanes. When entering a road section where hands-off driving is not available, the system will alert in advance so the driver can take manual control of vehicle steering.

Nissan e.dams has kicked off its ABB FIA Formula E electric street ...racing championship campaign with an impressive points haul as the first-ever Japanese brand in the series.

Nissan debuted as the newest manufacturer to join the championship with Swiss racer Sebastien Buemi and British driver Oliver Rowland finishing sixth and seventh respectively in the opening round of the series – the Ad Diriyah ePrix.

Super GT race driver and Japanese Formula 3 champion Mitsunori Takaboshi is the team's test and reserve driver.

Swiss ...former series' champion Sebastien Buemi and his newly announced British teammate Oliver Rowland will drive on the 2.495-kilometer, 21-turn street circuit in Ad Diriyah, near the Saudi Arabian capital of Riyadh.

Nissan GT-R50 by Italdesign continues world tour, confirms production design

Nissan has confirmed the production design of the Nissan GT-R50 by ...

Nissan has confirmed the production design of the Nissan GT-R50 by Italdesign – the ultimate expression of the GT-R – and has opened the official order books for the 50-vehicle ...limited run.

Nissan collaborated with Turin, Italy-based Italdesign to create the model, based on the latest Nissan GT-R NISMO, in commemoration of the 50th anniversaries of the GT-R in 2019 and Italdesign in 2018. While the prototype vehicle was finished in a special gray with gold accents, customers will be able to specify their preferred color combinations for the production version. They also will be able to choose interior colors and packages.

In addition to Goodwood, the GT-R50 prototype has made appearances at Spa-Francorchamps in Belgium, the Rolex Monterey Motorsports Reunion in the U.S. and Nissan Crossing in Tokyo’s Ginza district. It will be on display at the Nissan Gallery in Yokohama from Dec. 7.

TOKYO – The all-new Nissan LEAF NISMO RC, an electric race car with more than double the maximum power and torque output of its predecessor, was unveiled today in Tokyo.

The ...unveiling took place at Nissan Crossing in the city's Ginza district. The car, which was developed by Nissan's racing arm, NISMO, with its race technology know-how, will officially debut on Dec. 2 at the annual NISMO Festival at Fuji International Speedway, appearing alongside Nissan's new Formula E electric race car.

With dual electric motors, all-wheel drive and an aggressive, restyled body shape, the purpose-built car demonstrates how Nissan's electric vehicle technology can deliver exciting yet quiet, zero-emission power – a key component of the company's Nissan Intelligent Mobility vision. The model is equipped with advanced battery technology and drivetrain components from the Nissan LEAF, the world's best-selling electric car.

In their first-ever collaboration, Nissan and Italdesign ...have created a new prototype car – the Nissan GT-R50 by Italdesign, which could become the blueprint for a limited run of 50 hand-built production vehicles. The prototype is a celebration of two golden anniversaries: 50 years of the GT-R, in 2019, and 50 years of Italdesign, in 2018.

The car combines the best of two cultures – Japanese performance and Italian craftsmanship. The prototype was built with pride and dedication by Italdesign craftsmen at their workshop in Turin, Italy.

Italdesign is one of the world’s leading carrozzeria, or coachbuilders. It provides a wide range of services dedicated to the development of new vehicles and industrial products, ranging from styling to engineering and from prototype manufacturing to testing and validation.

“Underneath its design, it hides something unique and very special” Federico Ferrero, head of special vehicles at Italdesign, says of the GT-R50. “It’s the knowledge and the hands of skilled men, who’ve been building cars for decades, that brought the concept and its challenging and unique design to reality.”

Based on the latest GT-R NISMO, the Nissan GT-R50 features a pronounced power bulge on the hood, a lowered roofline, and prominent “samurai blade” cooling outlets behind the front wheels. The stretched LED headlights and the floating tail lights evoke the GT-R’s iconic signature.

The GT-R50’s interior features extensive use of two different carbon fiber finishes across the center console, instrument panel and door linings, along with black Alcantara and fine black Italian leather on the seats.

The gold accents used within the interior echo the exterior, giving it an elegant but sporty look, says GT-R50 workshop team leader Stefano D’Araio.

Nissan GT-R50 by Italdesign debuts in Tokyo

The Nissan GT-R50 by Italdesign made ...its first public appearance in Tokyo on September 23, Sunday.

Continuing on its world tour, the Nissan GT-R50 by Italdesign made its way to the home of the GT-R in Tokyo – for its first reveal at Daikanyama T-site for a “Morning Cruise” event with media, Nissan GT-R enthusiasts and automobile fans.

Nissan also brought from its heritage collection, the 1996 NISMO GT-R LM BCNR33 and the 1972 Skyline 2000GT-R Racing Concept (KPGC110). GT-R owners in Japan also came in full force filling up the parking lots at the event.

The first-ever collaboration between Nissan and Italdesign, the GT-R50 prototype may become the blueprint for an extremely limited run of hand-built production vehicles.

The prototype commemorates the 50th anniversaries of the Nissan GT-R, in 2019, and Italdesign, in 2018.

From concept to reality in little more than a year, ...Nissan and Italdesign have created a new prototype vehicle – Nissan GT-R50 by Italdesign – in their first-ever collaboration to celebrate two golden anniversaries: 50 years of GT-R, in 2019, and 50 years of Italdesign, in 2018.

Head of Nissan’s Global Design Alfonso Albaisa, Italdesign CEO Jörg Astalosch and Nissan Design Europe Vice President Mamoru Aoki describe the unprecedented collaboration between their designers and engineers, to create what could become the blueprint for a limited run of hand-built production vehicles.

The Nissan GT-R50 by Italdesign is based on the latest GT-R NISMO, reinterpreted with a European-style sensibility combining Japanese performance and Italian craftsmanship.

While Italdesign developed, engineered and constructed the car in Turin, Italy, the distinctive, exterior and interior designs originated from Nissan’s design centers in London and San Diego.

Nissan and Italdesign have created a new prototype vehicle – the Nissan GT-R50 by Italdesign – in their first-ever collaboration.

Based on a production 2018 Nissan GT-R NISMO model, the unique ...car commemorates the 50th anniversaries of both the GT-R and Italdesign and will make its debut in Europe next month.

“How often do you get to ask, ‘What if we created a GT-R without limits,’ and then actually get to build it?” said Alfonso Albaisa, Nissan’s senior vice president for global design. “This is a rare window in time when two big moments intersect: 50 years of Italdesign shaping the automotive world and 50 years of Nissan generating excitement through our iconic GT-R. So to celebrate this convergence, Nissan and Italdesign created this custom GT-R to mark 50 years of engineering leadership.”
