Nissan is elevating the performance capability of electric vehicles with its ...new twin-motor all-wheel-control technology called e-4ORCE and acoustic meta-material, a new sound insulation technology.

Toshiyuki Nakajima, general manager of advanced vehicle engineering department, explained the benefits of e-4ORCE technology that provides instant torque to all four wheels to deliver balanced, predictable power and handling on par with many premium sports cars.

While Susumu Miura, senior manager of advanced materials and processing laboratory research division, showed a new, lightweight noise-reducing material adding both quietness and efficiency to the electric driving experience.

Combining advanced electric-vehicle technology with a new ...level of seamless human-machine interface connectivity, it offers an entirely new driving experience.

Intuitive technology allows the Ariya Concept to fit seamlessly into the driver's daily life, on-board and off-board, providing the freedom and enjoyment of mobility anytime and anywhere.

Traveling assistance isn't limited to the vehicle. Among the human-machine interface features is Door to Door Navigation, which allows anyone to set a destination on their smartphone, transfer it to the Ariya Concept and have the vehicle's navigation system continue offering directions.

Upon arriving at the destination, drivers can use a smartphone or dedicated device to park the car automatically from a nearby location with ProPILOT Remote Park.

Nissan has invented acoustic meta-material, a new, lightweight sound ...insulation material that significantly reduces road noise for quiet, comfortable driving.

The material only weighs one-fourth of current noise insulation materials, such as rubber boards, yet provides the same reduction in road noise.
By reducing vehicle weight, the material can help improve driving performance and fuel efficiency.

The Nissan Ariya Concept is at the Nissan booth at CES 2020, visitors can see and experience the new acoustic meta-material at Nissan’s display (6306) in the North Hall of the Las Vegas Convention Center. This year’s show runs from Jan. 7-10.

During the 2019 Tokyo Motor Show, Nissan invited media ...from around the world to experience ProPILOT 2.0 - the world’s first driver assistance system to combine navigated highway driving with hands-off single-lane driving capabilities.

First seen on the new Nissan Skyline, the system is designed for on-ramp to off-ramp highway driving. ProPILOT 2.0 engages with the vehicle's navigation system to help maneuver the car according to a predefined route on designated roadways. It can also assist the driver with passing and changing lanes.

Here are some reactions from the media after their test drives.

Disclaimer: Media representatives tried ProPILOT 2.0 on a highway with three lanes in each direction. The hands-off feature is not available on roads with two-way traffic, in tunnels, on winding roads, in tollgate areas, in merging lanes, in areas with a decreasing number of lanes, or in areas where manual control is required. When entering a road section where hands-off driving is not available, the system will alert the driver in advance so that the driver can take manual control of steering.

Nissan will unveil an all-new sedan and display two electrified concept vehicles at this year’s Shanghai International Automobile Exhibition, showing visitors how the company’s technologies and design are changing the ...future of mobility.

Visitors to the Shanghai show will also see a full range of current Nissan models, including the Lannia and Tiida, the legendary GT-R performance machine, and the world’s best-selling electric car – the Nissan LEAF. Nissan’s SUVs – the Kicks, Murano, Patrol, Qashqai, Terra and X-Trail – will round out the lineup of vehicles on display.

The 18th Shanghai International Automobile Exhibition will take place at the National Exhibition and Convention Center. The show is open to the public from April 18-25.

Nissan and NTT Docomo are testing Nissan’s Invisible-to-Visible technology using Docomo’s 5G mobile communications connectivity.

The technology, first revealed at the CES trade show in Las Vegas in January, underwent its ...first field test using a moving vehicle this month at Grandrive, Nissan’s proving ground in Yokosuka, Japan.

Invisible-to-Visible, or I2V, is a future Nissan Intelligent Mobility technology that merges the real and virtual worlds. By combining information from sensors outside and inside the vehicle with data from the cloud, it helps drivers “see the invisible.” I2V also connects drivers and passengers to the metaverse, a virtual world where people can interact through avatars.

The Nissan e-POWER has been a hit with consumers in Japan, where it's helped make the Nissan Note the country's best-selling registered car. Combining 100% electric motor drive with a ...gasoline engine that charges the battery, e-POWER cars give customers instant, smooth acceleration and excellent fuel efficiency.

The e-POWER system includes a gasoline engine with a power generator, an inverter, a battery and an electric motor. Used solely to charge the high-output battery, the gasoline engine always runs at an optimal speed. This leads to superior fuel efficiency and lower emissions compared with a traditional internal combustion engine.

Currently, e-POWER is available in the Note and Serena models in Japan. More than 70% of Note sales and almost half of Serena sales in the country are e-POWER versions.
At the 2019 Geneva Motor Show, Nissan announced that it plans to debut the e-POWER technology in European markets by 2022.

The e-POWER system is a key part of Nissan’s electrification strategy. Nissan plans to launch more e-POWER models globally as part of its Nissan Intelligent Mobility vision for changing how cars are powered, driven and integrated into society.
