Getting Packed Up
Off the bat, we get our Toyota 4Runner SR5 Premium packed up for the great outdoors. The 4Runner is a great family hauler with a roomy cabin and plenty of flexible cargo space. With the second-row seats up, we get 47.2 cubic feet of storage and with them down, we unleash 89.7 cubic feet of storage. A well-stocked 4Runner can tow up to 5000 pounds when properly equipped*. Getting There
For our next test, we see how the 4Runner SR5 Premium handles the call of the wild. With luxury touches, the 4Runner SR5 Premium offers more than incredible off-road ability. Our first test goes to the dogs to learn how much cargo space is offered by the Sorento SX. With all three rows up, the 11.3 cubic feet of storage space is limited versus the 2019 Nissan Pathfinder SV and the Subaru Ascent Limited. But when we fold them flat and unleash the hounds, we discover the 73 cubic feet of cargo space is more than enough room for groceries, gear, and puppies!

With three rows of seating and two full sets of LATCH child seat connectors, the Sorento SX looks like a solid choice for young families. But when we went old school with a group of young students, we discovered that tight legroom in the third row might not cut it on those long summer road trips.

We took on an obstacle course to test out the ride of the Kia Sorento SX. Overall, it’s quiet, smooth, calm, and serene, with very few jarring bumps.

The Ride
Out of the gate, we take on an obstacle course to find out if a baby can sleep, well, like a baby in the Sorento SX. The 3.3-liter V6 engine delivers a smooth response and the 7.3-inches of ground clearance rolls over the bumps without a scrape. With a turning radius of 18.6 feet, this midsize SUV tackles the twists and turns with ease and delivers a car-like ride. The independent front and rear suspension delivers an easy, quiet ride that is downright dreamy.

Cargo Space
Our next test goes to the dogs as we fire up the power liftgate and discover the cargo capacity of the 2019 Sorento SX. Seating Comfort and Capacity
With three rows of seating, room for seven, and two full sets of LATCH child seat connectors, the Sorento SX looks a solid choice for families. But when we went old school with a group of young students, we discovered a few roadblocks. Third-row access is only available through the second-row passenger side which makes loading up a little tricky. The second-row features 39.4 inches of ample legroom. But the cozy, two-seater third row might not cut it for taller kids and adults on those long summer road trips.
