History of Nissan

Nissan Motor Company, also known simply as Nissan, is a Japanese multinational automobile manufacturer headquartered in Nishi-ku, Yokohama. The company sells its cars under the Nissan, Infiniti, and Datsun brands, with in-house performance tuning products labelled Nismo.

The company was founded in 1933 as the Jidosha-Seizo Kabushiki-Kaisha (Automobile Manufacturing Co., Ltd.) and changed its name to Nissan Motor Co., Ltd. in 1934. It merged with Datsun in 1930, which was the brand under which it sold its vehicles until 1984.
