Too many reservations are many by allowing the customer to dictate the date and time. And while you always want to make a reservation convenient for the customer, they often aren’t aware of options that will work as well, or even better.
When making a reservation, always attempt to fill the first available slot for the requested service. Even if that slot is on the same day.
Here’s how that might sound:
“If you’re available, we can handle that today at 2:30 or at 8:00 am tomorrow. Which would work best for you?”
Notice that we provided the customer with options.
When neither option is agreeable, the customer will tell you. If, however, they agree to the time, you’ve just increased your potential profits by maximizing your shop load for today’s business.
