FAQ

Straight answers, no sales voice.

The questions dealer principals and GSMs actually ask — about SEO, Google Business Profile, reviews, email, AI search, and what working with one accountable person is really like. 23 of them.

Working together

6 questions
Do I have to sign a long-term contract?

No. Most stores start with the free audit, then a project with a defined start and finish. Retainers are month to month once we both know the work is producing.

Who actually does the work?

I do. There is no junior account manager, no offshore content team, and you will not be re-explaining your store every month to somebody new.

How many dealers do you work with at once?

Deliberately few. I turn work down rather than hand it to someone you have never met. That is the trade-off of a one-person shop and it is on purpose.

Will you work with a store that already has vendors?

Constantly. Plenty of dealers keep their website or ad provider and bring me in for the pieces nobody owns — profile, reviews, social, email, follow-up process.

What does the free audit actually include?

A website and content review, a Google Business Profile check, a review and response audit, and a lead-response mystery shop of your own store. You get a one-page plan and you keep it either way.

Do you work outside Atlantic Canada?

Yes — across Canada and the United States. Atlantic Canada is where I am based and where a lot of my experience comes from. The playbook travels; what changes is drive radius, competition and local ad rules.

Reviews and reputation

4 questions
How many Google reviews does my store need?

Fewer than you think, more recently than you are getting them. Recency and response quality carry more weight than a big historical total sitting untouched.

Should I respond to negative reviews?

Every one of them, in a way that reads like a person wrote it. Assume the response is being read by the next hundred shoppers and, now, summarised by AI assistants.

Can you get bad reviews removed?

Only the ones that genuinely violate policy, and that is a small number. Anyone promising to make real reviews disappear is selling you a problem.

What is a realistic review request process?

A named person asking at a specific moment in the sale and the service visit, with a link that takes two taps. Process beats incentives, and incentives are against the rules anyway.

Email and follow-up

4 questions
Is email really worth it with a small database?

A few thousand past customers will out-produce the same spend on third-party leads almost every time. They already bought from you once.

What should we actually send?

Five sends cover most of the opportunity: equity and trade, service reminders timed to the vehicle, lease and finance end, a post-purchase series, and win-back at eighteen months.

How fast do we need to respond to leads?

Median first human contact under ten minutes during the hours your shoppers are actually shopping. Not average — median, by day of week.

Do you set up the CRM?

I do not replace your CRM. I fix the process around it: coverage windows, templates, handoffs, and the one number that tells you whether it is holding.

AI and the future

4 questions
Can you get my dealership into ChatGPT results?

There is no ad inventory to buy. What works is being findable, quotable and trusted: clean structured data, plain-language answer pages, consistent facts everywhere, and real review sentiment.

Is AI search visibility just SEO with a new name?

It overlaps heavily. The difference is the target — being the sentence an assistant repeats, rather than the tenth link on a results page.

Should we add an AI chatbot to the site?

Only if someone is watching it. A bot that books appointments and hands off cleanly earns its keep. One that invents a payment costs you the lead and the trust at once.

Will AI write our content?

It writes drafts. The specifics that make content worth reading — your inventory, your market, your people — come from your store, and I edit everything before it goes out.

Question that isn't here?

Ask it directly. Same business day reply, and I'll tell you if we're not a fit.
